摘要:The aim of this study is to assess the oral hygiene status in musicians among the Chennai population. Materials and methods: A convenient sample size of 100 consecutive musicians from various parts of Chennai participated in this study. A cross sectional observational online based study was conducted. Questionnaire was created on a survey monkey website with dichotomous responses and multiple choice questions. Result : In our study nearly 92% of the participants answered that oral hygiene is important among musicians.67% of participants answered that wind instruments would cause more orthodontic issues and 44% of participants answered that both the brass and wood instruments would cause temporomandibular dysfunction and 46% of participants answered that the musicians should use floss or mouthwash twice a day. Conclusion: Dentists who understand how instruments impact orofacial structures and are aware of the potential problems faced by musicians, are able to offer preventive advice and supportive treatment to these patients.
