  • 摘要:Background: Lip prints are used as Ante mortem records in a digitalizedprogramming way using various code systems. This research aims in highlighting the significance of maintenance of lip prints as ante mortem records using digital coding systems. The aim of the study is to create a database for lip print using 1D linear barcoding system to serve as an ante mortem record. Materials and Methods: The materials used to collect lip prints are a dark-colored non-glossy lipstick, A4 sheet paper, Cellophane tape, magnifying lens (×10), pen to mark lines, linear coding software. The study was conducted among 100 individuals of 50 females and 50 males in the age of 17 to 60 years were included in the study. Verbal informed consent was received before tracing the lip prints. The lip prints were taken on the individuals without having any lesions on their lips and who are sensitive to the lipstick are excluded in this study The lip print image is uploaded to a 1D image linear bar coding and scanned by the scanning device such as mobile etc. Results: The study was conducted among 100 individuals divided into 50 females and 50 males in the age group of 17 to 60 years were included in the study. All the 100 individuals were recorded and the database is created with a barcode. Conclusion: To make use of its unique lip print database we generated an Automated 1D barcode for taken sample lip print. At last, a unique identification number is generated by using lip prints of each of the individual. It concludes by enlightening the readers with the fact that the possibilities to use the red part of lips to identify a human being.
