  • 摘要:This paper aims to examine the relationship between COVID-19 and the perceived General Selfefficacy levels of the students in a Saudi university. The data was gathered through a self-efficacy scale questionnaireand semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed that students who do not find their field of study (e.g., Administration) relevant to the current experience the of COVID-19 pandemic have low self-efficacy levels. In contrast, there was no significant negative effect of the COVID-19 situation on the self-efficacy of Medical students, which might be attributable to the growing importance of the medical profession in the prevailing situation. On the other hand, the negative effect on the self-efficacy of Scientific Stream and Administrative Stream students was attributable to the perceived reduced and/or uncertain position of their role in society in the current situation. These findings suggest that concrete remedial measures should be taken to address the psychological needs of the Scientific and Administrative stream students.
