摘要:For individuals with oral lesions that might be cancerous, the serum lipid profile has to be estimated. Materials and Methods: After receiving ethical permission from the institution, a serum lipid profile was performed on about 100 patients with oral cancer who were compared to 20 healthy controls. It was decided to apply the Endpoint approach to estimate the lipid profile values for HDL and VLDL levels as well as total blood cholesterol. This approach was also used to estimate HDL, LDL, and VLDL. In females with oral possibly malignant diseases, HDL levels were found to be considerably lower (P = 0.047). “As opposed to lichen planus, smoker's palate, mixed leukoplakia, and oral submucous fibrosis, the mean levels of total cholesterol, HDL, and VLDL were lower, namely 140.78, 32.444, 28.444, and 141.33, respectively; in leukoplakia.” Lichen planus had a lower mean LDL score than the other groups, at 73.167. These results show that lower blood lipid contents in females may act as a diagnostic indicator or marker for the early diagnosis of mouth cancer-related illnesses.
