摘要:This research paper examines how the demographic profile of employees influences the association between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) in the IT industry. A descriptive research design was adopted with data obtained from 315 respondents from IT industry. A cross-sectional sample was collected using the survey method, and bivariate and multivariate statistical analysis techniques were applied to determine the research objectives. The results reveal that EI has a substantial impact on OCB. On analysing the impact of demographic variables, the findings reveal that age and job experience, unlike gender and marital status, have a moderating impact on EI skills for promoting better citizenship behaviour in the IT industry. Managers and HR professionals may realize that differences in demographic profile influences the behaviour and contribution of every employee, which is required to develop strategic HR planning aligned with overall organization’s objectives.
