摘要:The use of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED) is a problem that impacts not just sport but also society, as it is a critical issue that must be addressed in future physical activity and sport professionals' education. Therefore, the current research had been organized to estimate the attitude and behavioural intension regarding the doping approach in sport among elite athletes of Punjab, Pakistan. Adapted scales namely Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale (PEAS) and Doping Use Believe (DOB) after due course of pilot testing and validity were administered to 400 athletes of both sexes (males and females). Out of 400, three hundred (300) duly filled questionnaires having 75% valid response rate were received back which was used for analysis of data. The researcher employed descriptive and inferential statistics to analyse and then interpret the responses. Findings of the study indicated that 65 to 74 % athletes were in favour of the use of performance enhance drugs (PED) and 62 to 71% were inclined to use of PED in sport. When athletes’ attitude was analysed regarding doping in sport, the main reasons were that use of drugs help them overcome training burden and overcome injuries and fast recovery. Likewise, they respond that management, scarcity of training on doping control, relevant staff to leads doing are important determinants of doping use in sport. The results showed a significant correlation between attitude and behaviour towards doping in sport (.392**) and suggest that the predictor variable (attitude) have a significant positive impact on criterion variable (behavioural intension) (p< .05). Conclusion of the current study revealed tendency towards doping in sport among athletes. Therefore, efforts are required to develop and implement awareness programs to prevent doping in sport.
