摘要:Teachers’ training at primary level always remained an area of great concern and to train the primary teachers, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initiated a training program in 2017 namely Continuous Professional Development (CPD). This study investigates the effects of CPD on the professional abilities of teachers that include: Lesson Planning; Classroom Management; Pedagogical Skills; Monitoring and Evaluation; and Professional Development. For the study 144 head teachers, 288 government boys’ and girls’ primary school teachers (PSTs), and 112 master trainers were selected from three selected districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as sample through multistage stratified sampling technique. It was quantitative research and data were collected through questionnaires from head teacher, master trainers and PSTs trainees. The data were analyzed by employing one-way ANOVA. The results elicited that CPD trainings did not bring the desired results in the professional development of PSTs, which means that CPD trainings did not promote the aforementioned professional abilities among the respondents.
