摘要:Currently, Colombia is the tenth largest producer of cacao in the world and the third in Latin America. However, its production, marketing, and quality are affected by different factors, especially in its production processes. Some phases such as fermentation and drying guarantee a high-quality grain as long as it is made using a good practices methodology. Unfortunately, rudimentary methods are currently carried out based solely on the experience of cacao farmers. This article presents the design of a Technology platform that generates value to this business through an architecture model, which manages the processes defined in an IT strategy. Based on the current state and characterization of the Colombian Technical Standard NTC 5811, we propose the design for the management of information in the pre-planting, planting, maintenance, production, and benefit phases of Theobroma cacao crops. This project demonstrates the importance of incorporating information and communication technologies in the cacao value chain and quality standards in good cacao cultivation practices at the international level.
