摘要：The Cerrado biome occupies approximately 22% of the Brazilian territory and is present in the state of Paraná in seven municipalities, among them Campo Mourão. Currently the Cerrado remnants in the municipality are concentrated in the urban area, mainly in the Estação Ecológica do Cerrado Prof.ª Diva Aparecida Camargo - EEC (the smallest Cerrado ecological station in Brazil with 13,330 m2) and plot 7H (~22,000 m²). In this work, we interviewed 25 residents about their perception of the EEC’s surroundings through a map of social representation having as central core the elements ‘Good/Good’ and peripheral elements as ‘important, trees, taste, preservation, fresh and abandoned’. It was observed a predominantly positive evaluation of the residents, however, there is little understanding of the importance of the Cerrado vegetation and the EEC.
