摘要:The emerging emergence of a more sustainable panorama for civil construction consolidates a timely scenario for the adoption of ecological brick in buildings. However, for this conduct to be perpetuated in a cautious way and even to extenuate social stigmas that are adverse to the use of this material, it is extremely important to establish quality controls that can protect its use. In this context, the present study aims to thoroughly evaluate the technological properties of the soil-cement brick produced in the Poty Velho region, in Teresina-PI, based on judicious performance parameters established by the standards in force. In view of this, compressive strength and water absorption tests were carried out, as well as analyzes of the characteristic dimensions of this constructive element, according to the guidelines of NBR 8492/2012.That said, it was confirmed that, in the face of these evaluation procedures, the bricks examined produced satisfactory results regarding the precepts of resistance to compression and water absorption, however, they denoted flaws in the production process and inconsistencies with regard to their characteristic dimensions.
