摘要：Objective: This research analyzed the challenges that nurses face to insert men in primary care. It aimed to trace the sociodemographic profile of the nurses, identifying whether the PNAISH is being implemented, highlighting the strategies used by the population studied and also describing the challenges and difficulties experienced by nurses in caring for men in the services offered in primary health care. Method: This is a field study, cross-sectional, with a quantitative and descriptive approach, carried out with nurses from basic health units, interviewed using a semi-structured instrument. The interviews took place in September 2021. Results: There was a predominance of females, with specialization as the highest degree. In the results, it can be observed that the main factors that interfere with men's access to primary care are: the preference for self-medicating, associated with lack of time for the same, the operating hours of the UBS and discomfort within the unit. Conclusion: Nurses trust the importance of health care for men, despite finding difficulties in inserting it in primary care. It was evident that the intervention and recruitment of the health team is necessary so that they seek actions in order to improve the search for assistance.
