摘要:Introduction: Breastfeeding is a very important practice for the mother-child binomial, and it provides the opportunity to create a bond and benefits for the health of both. Considering the above, the nurse has a key role in education and health promotion in primary care, being the main actor in the question of guidance to pregnant women throughout the prenatal, puerperium and postpartum period up to 6 months of life. drinks. Objective: To gather the results of research on the most cited factors in the literature that influence early weaning and the impact of the nursing professional in this process. Materials and methods: Data collection took place between 2017 and 2022, through the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Google Scholar, and LILACS - Bireme (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences). ). Results: Through the search carried out from the databases described, a total of 11 articles were found from the descriptors and search criteria applied to the research. Discussion: The role of nursing is to ensure, through promotion, protection and prevention, the practice of EBF, not only through information, but mainly through the implementation of actions that involve the pregnant woman and her family during prenatal care, childbirth and postpartum, thus contributing to the correct condition of breastfeeding. Conclusion: Improving healthcare professionals' knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding breastfeeding is a key strategy to influence mothers' decisions to breastfeed and improve overall breastfeeding rates.
