摘要:Design and performance of a microwave apparatus for photoconductivity measurement of silver halide grains is described. The apparatus consists of a sample cavity in a usual magic-T bridge, a heterodyne receiver preceded with a low noise preamplifier (noise figure: 3.5 dB), and two automatic frequency control circuits. Experimental result at room temperature using a primitive AgBr emulsion has shown that detection of photoconductivity in a toe portion of the photographic characteristic curve is possible. The high detection sensitivity is useful for the purpose of the study of latent image formation process. The theoretical limit of the detection sensitivity with the microwave apparatus is also estimated.
