摘要:Pregnancy is a period that requires greater health care, it is essential that hormonal and biochemical rates remain stabilized. It is in the gestational period that these rates become unbalanced, imposing risks to the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus. Iron deficiency anemia is one of the biochemical deficiencies that affect individuals of any age group, presenting serious risks during the gestational period. The objective of this research was to analyze the risks of iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy, highlighting the importance of precision in clinical and laboratory diagnosis. The methodology of literature review was adopted to collect the results of this research based on secondary sources, which are books and scientific studies produced by other authors and published in the last five years, in Portuguese, searched in the MedLine, Lilacs databases. and Scielo. Altogether, about 17 scientific studies and 3 books formed the basis of the research. The results found show that iron deficiency anemia can affect pregnant women, and can worsen and become a chronic condition. The risks to the health of the pregnant woman and her offspring are immense, so the prediction of the diagnosis is essential to reverse the deficiency of iron in the body and avoid damages. The conclusion of the research is focused on the care of the periodic follow-up of clinical and laboratory analyses, being the periodicity necessary to evaluate the levels of rates presented by pregnant women, to provide an accurate and early diagnosis for imbalances and deficiencies, such as iron deficiency anemia, which may develop during pregnancy.
