摘要：A significant amount of scientific studies have proved that Forensic Dentistry is a forensic science with a beneficial cost and great value for the verification of facts in expertise. With the advent of technologies, the expertise has become more precise and with several techniques that prove to be multidisciplinary, for example, merging Law with Dental Radiology, by safeguarding dental documents for comparing bodies. Besides other varied techniques in which the analysis of a dental appearance represents the most probable discovery of the truth and the exclusion of possible versions of suspects. In light of the foregoing, this article has objective of describing the methods used in Forensic Dentistry, approaching the historical trajectory, as well as mentioning the importance of forensic dentists in police academies, in addition, citing the influence of dental records and other documents for expert proof analysis. The results are in colecting a large number of dental academics and dentists, in order to have more organization and archival planning regarding dental documents. Furthermore, it can also reach academic readers of other courses so that be informed about this occupation area extremely collaborative and promising for the community, even so, it contributes to the academic environment through publications in journals, it uses the theoretical basis to approach Forensic Dentistry, in general. It’s a qualitative research. Therefore, it is expected that this article will contribute to the construction of a solid knowledge in Forensic Dentistry, urging the reader to look beyond the present project.
