摘要:A time base modulation (TBM) method was analyzed using frequency spectrum constructs. TBM is a non-real-time modulation method patented by the authors for constructing an analog modulation system with bandwidth conversion for video signals. Noise characteristics for TBM were studied and analyzed. Using theoretical verifications, the noise characteristics of TBM signals were analyzed with correlations between a carrier to noise ratio (C/N) and a signal to noise ratio (S/N) introduced by theoretical formulas. Despite their different spectrum constructs, noise analysis of both TBM and FM in which the S/N gains of TBM to FM were clarified showed that the baseband noise of TBM can be the same as that of FM under the same bandwidth conditions. TBM can be applied not only to analog processing systems but also to new digital processing systems that use digital coding modulation techniques with low noise characteristics similar to FM and time base techniques for converting digital image information in high-speed transmission systems.
