The author solves the stationary wave resistance problem of a submerged body with arbitrary form by the successive substitution method which becomes possible when we introduce a system of the ortho-normal functions on the body surface. Then we see their first approximation corresponds to the known extension formula by E. Hogner, Interpolation formula of the wave resistance, and by T. H. Havelock, trimming moment of the submerged body. An example of the wave resistance by the first approximation of the present formula is shown in Fig. 2., and this result gives larger value than by the Michell's formula, that had been found by W. C. S. Wigley in the case of prolate spheroids.
