There are many excellent theoretical researchs on the transverse strength of takers, but the experimental data on it have not been yet reported. So, the author tried the measurement of the stress distributions of the transverse members on the tankers of 19, 000 D. W. T. and 47, 000 D. W. T. In this report, the data of the measurement, and the results of brief calculations on them by the slope-deflection method, will be described.
