The behaviour of panels of plating loaded beyond the elastic limits is studied in this paper. And a simple analytical method based on the plastic hinge theory is presented. Experiments were carried out using large specimens consist of three continuous panels subjected to water pressure. A fair agreement between the test results and calculation was obtained.
