Extensive studies on preferred color reproduction of “skin” are being carried out. We have studied on preferred color reproduction of photographic prints for various scenes. Preferred color reproduction varies according to the scenes. In portrait, the color reproduction of “light skin” of Macbeth Color Checker is considered to be important subject. In the preferred color prints, CIE 1976 L* a* b* hue-angle of reproduced “Light skin” shifts toward “reddish” from that of original chart. Otherwise, in the scene of which skin color is not significant subject, color reproduction of “gray” is considered to be important. The variation of color balance shift in red (magenta)-green direction affects on the observer rating value more significantly than that of color balance shift in blue-yellow direction. Aged observers tend to less prefer the print whose color balance shifts to pinkish.
