We developed novel 1 H -pyrrolo [1, 2- b ][1, 2, 4] triazoles which could form a cyan dye having excellent hue. The azomethine dyes formed from EWG-disubstituted 1 H -pyrrolo [1, 2- b ][1, 2, 4] triazoles have excellent color properties because of the high planarity in their structure. Especially, cyano group in the C6 position and alkoxycarbonyl group in the C7 position are effective substituents for attaining excellent hue. Furthermore, 2, 6-di- tert -butyl-4-methylcyclohexyloxycarbonyl group in the C7 position is the most preferable substituent for attaining stability of the dye.
