The research on the application of organic semiconductors to the use for electronic devices has become of much interest since the success of organic photoconductive (OPC) materials. In this study, we tried to apply an organic semiconductor having narrow absorption band to the use for a solid-state sensor device and examined the capabilities of the image capturing. The thin layer of quinacridone with a sharp absorption band in green region was stacked on CMOS read-out circuit as the photoelectric conversion layer, and we succeeded for the first time in the world in capturing still and moving images by the solid-state image sensor with an organic semiconductor.
