In this paper the wave loads acting on the connecting device of a rigidly connected type ocean-going pusher barge are investigated. Model experiments have been carried out under various wave conditions at the Seakeeping Basin of the University of Tokyo. Analytical procedure based on the ordinary strip method have been developed to calculate the motions of the pusher barge train and the connection forces in regular oblique waves. Fairly good agreements between the calculated and experimental results are obtained. The results can be applied to the prediction of ship motions and the design of the actual ship connection.
