This paper deals with the design criteria for the mooring systems of offshore floating structures. The design criteria, presented in this paper, is based on the fundamental research works conducted by the author, and is applied for the basic designs of actual structures which are built at IHI. The diagram to predict the slowly varying oscillations of moored structures is also presented as shown in Fig. 4. By way of example, the design of mooring system of floating breakwater is introduced.
