    HICADEC-A, P have been developed as sub-systems of the total integrated CAD/CAM system HICADEC. These two sub-systems can undertake all outfittings and piping design tasks both in hull and machinery field in order to generate and transfer production control information to production shops. All these data are provided through 3D data base. The interactive mode process is mainly applicable to the systems while the batch mode process is also applicable as appropriate. The major achievements are : flexible input procedures, multi-access to a single data base, automatic piping route and parts generation, and automatic piping interference check. The 3D data model can generate not only graphical data which are freely exchanged among the four sub-systems in HICADEC, but also technical data for material procurement and production control.
