Even though a lot of efforts have been conducted for making production planning and scheduling systems in Japanese shipyards with the advancement of computer technology, engineers seem to be not satisfied for their existing systems. Because their systems are usually 1) not totaly integrated, 2) not friendly for users, 3) so difficult to make input data and so on. On the other hand, in our previous paper, we have contributed implement a product definition system which can be applicable for shipbuilding industry. In this paper, we would like to show how efficient it is to make production planning system if there exists a ship definition system. In our paper, two systems are proposed. One is estimation aided system which estimates management information such as element members which are included in a block structure, weight, surface area, connection length among members, welding position and so on. The other is scheduling system which supports scheduling planning in dock stage and in production stage based on the results of entimation aided system.
