This report is concerned with correlation coefficient between wave induced stresses in the long term distribution. Several load acts on the hull construction. The correlation coefficient method is proposed as the one of method to compose these loads. It is the actual situation that the correlation coefficient is decided from many numerical calculation results. In this study, we theoretically examine the correlation coefficient in the long term distribution between various wave induced stress and derive the following conclusion. (1) We examined relation of correlation coefficient with short term distribution and long term distribution. We made clear that the correlation coefficient in the long term distribution could be estimated from the phase difference with the other wave induced stress when the response amplitude function of the dominant wave induced stress become the largest value. (2) The correlation coefficient of long term distribution is not influenced statistical nature of the encounter sea condition. We confirmed this numerically. (3) The combined probability distribution of the long term distribution of wave induced stress can be described by Weibull distribution and the shape parameter of the distribution can be similar with shape parameter of long term distribution of the dominant wave induced stress.
