It is generally considered that tree seeds are hard to germinate in water. ‘Sugi’ seeds (Cryptomeria japonica D. Do, ;) were kept in distilled water added with hydrogen peroxide in various concentrations. (Fig. 1.) It was found ‘Sugi’ seeds can germinate in the solution, and their germination percentage has a close connection with concentration of the solution. (Fig. 2, 3.)
