摘要：Les années 2005 et 2006 ont vu la parution consécutive de deux romans portant le même titre, Swing : le premier en date (accompagné du sous-titre A Mystery) est l’œuvre du musicien, dramaturge et romancier britannico-américain Rupert Holmes, tandis que le second est signé du journaliste et écrivain français Jean-Yves Chaperon, spécialiste de jazz. Le paysage musical américain, dans sa complexité et ses résonances sociologiques, fournit le fond de tableau de ces deux romans. Cet article examine comment, dans chaque cas, sont tenues les promesses multiples du titre, et ce que le contenu musical de ce dernier fait à l’écriture elle-même et à notre perception du monde qu’elle représente.
其他摘要：In 2005 and 2006 two novels were published bearing the same title, Swing: the first one (with the subtitle A Mystery) is the work of Rupert Holmes, a British-American composer, playwright and novelist, whereas the second was written by Jean-Yves Chaperon, a French writer and journalist who specializes in jazz. The American music landscape, with its intricacies and sociological echoes, provides the background of these two novels. This paper examines how, in both cases, the various promises of the title are kept, and what the music suggested does to the writing itself and to our perception of the world represented.
