摘要：Este artículo se aproxima a las fotografías de prensa realizadas por Ismael Casasola en 1939 que ilustraron el fotorreportaje “¡Vamos a ver al Pascola!”, escrito por Gregorio Ortega a partir de una visita de ambos a la región de los indígenas yaquis y mayos. El propósito es mostrar cómo el abordaje de la mancuerna formada por textos e imágenes en los espacios de las revistas ilustradas fomentó la constitución de los imaginarios sociales posrevolucionarios, en particular los indigenistas. Como estudio de caso el fotorreportaje permite percatarnos de los estereotipos raciales, sociales y culturales y develar los modos de ver a los yaquis y mayos en 1939. Para analizar estas mancuernas constructoras de sentido se parte de las propuestas de la cultura visual.
其他摘要：This article is an approach to Ismael Casasola’s photographs which accompanied the article written by Gregorio Ortega on the visit by photographer and journalistic to the Mayo and Yaqui Indian region in 1939. The purpose of this paper is to show how the coupling of images and text in the pages of illustrated magazines was instrumental in building post-revolutionary social imaginaries, in this case a specifically indigenist one. This piece of photo-journalism as a case study sheds light on racial, social and cultural stereotypes and reveals the ways in which the Mayo and Yaqui Indians were regarded in 1939. The perspective of visual culture forms the basis for analyzing the pairing of text and images as a device for constructing meaning.
