摘要：Este trabalho teve como objetivo a medição de vazão e sedimentação da seção 2do rio Cascavel, localizada entre as coordenadas UTM 451241e 450665E e 7195853e 7194473N, Datum horizontal SAD69 Meridiano 51° W de Greenwich. Nesta seção foram efetuadas 28 medições e coletadas 84amostras de material sedimentar, no período de março a setembro de 2005. Concluiu-se que o aumento da área molhada da seção esta associada aos períodos de maior precipitação, registrados nos meses maio, junho e setembro e que, os maiores picos de sedimentação não foram proporcionais aos períodos de maior pluviosidade, sendo estes relacionados ao período pós-cheia do canal. Abstract The research objective was to measure the outflow and sedimentation of section 2 of the Cascavel River which is located between coordinates UTM 451241 and 4506665 E, and 7195853 and 7194473 N, horizontal Datum SAD 69, Greenwich Meridian 51° W, where 28 measurements were carried on and 84 sediment samples were collected from March through September, 2005. It was found that the increase of the wet area of the section is associated with the seasons of abundant rain, registered in the months May, June and September. In addition, the greatest peaks of sedimentation were not proportional to the periods of greater rainfall, being related instead to the canal post-flooding period.
