摘要：Fourth amendment protection against unreasonable searches and seizures has long been held a barrier to the use of trickery by the government; yet government officials, in their combat against modern sophisticated crimes, have voiced a need to employ some types of misrepresentation. Governmental deception, once forbidden by by the courts, has become a common occurrence. The author discusses the tension created by this circumstance and traces the solutions offered by the courts.
