摘要:Carbaryl (CA) and lead (Pb) are widely recogriized as water pollutants. Its toxicity is evaluated by LC 50 in Daphnia magna or by concentration in water. However, these are not very sensitive methods. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate the toxicity of a mixture of these contaminants by a reliable, rapid, cheap and sensitive method. We selected tHe lipids, chlorophyll and reductor sugars concentration of Ankistrodesmus falcatus . Different concentrations of lead, carbaryl and mixture of both pollutants were added to different lots of algae. Chlorophyll, reducted sugar and lipid concentration were determined after the toxification period. The Pb-CA mixture produces a major effect on biochemical parameters than xenobiotics by themselves and it has been suggested that, to establish permissible limits, the synergism presented in simultaneous exposure to both xenobiotics must be considered.
