摘要:The aim of this paper is to study the influence of three hydraulic residence time (HRT) in the hydrolysis-solubilization process of solid waste. Organic matter from organic solid waste (OSW) and sewage sludge from a wastewater treatment plant were treated by anaerobic digestion in a bioreactor of 27.2 liters. A 13 liters useful volume was filled with equal amounts of organic solids and sludges. An OSW sample was prepared with waste from food, gardening, as well as paper and cardboard, according to percentages of the Mexican composition reported by INEGI (2011). The reactor was operated with a continuous upflow feeding of tap water to increase contact between substrate and microorganisms in order to increase the solubilization kinetics. Under these conditions, the impact of HRT on solubilization hydrolysis was evaluated for 5, 10 and 20 days. Quality of hydrolysis-solubilization was analyzed through the physical and chemical characterization of the output effluent. Lower HRT improves the overall efficiency of hydrolysis. This demonstrates the decisive influence of HRT on hydrolysis-solubilization process of the organic substrate.
