摘要：Este trabajo del escritor chileno Jaime Hales, motivado por un ensayo de Sergio I. Melnick publicado en 2001 —"Las Torres Gemelas y el Nuevo Curso de la Historia"—, es una aguda reflexión sobre el sentido y el contrasentido del mundo contemporáneo, surgida a partir de los atentados en Estados Unidos el 11 de septiembre de 2001 y revisada cuando se han cumplido ya dos años de esos hechos, invasiones de Afganistán e Irak de por medio. Para Hales, dedicado a estudiar el pensamiento holístico y los oráculos, nada está exento de sentido, incluso lo más terrible.

Melnick published in 2001 —"The Twin Towers and the New Direction of History"— is a sharp reflection on the sense and nonsense of the contemporary world, emerging since the September 11 attacks in the United States and reviewed two years after those facts and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. For Hales, dedicated to the study of the holistic thought and the oracles, nothing is beyond sense, including the most terrible.
