摘要："Desde que se consumó la independencia de sus países, las mujeres latinoamericanas del siglo XIX comienzan la lucha por sus derechos laborales, su derecho a la educación y su participación política", escribe Patricia Galeana. Con abundantes e interesantes datos, la historiadora mexicana traza en este ensayo el arduo camino recorrido en ese sentido por el género femenino latinoamericano y la destacada participación de muchas de sus representantes, tanto en las luchas libertarias como en los procesos de integración de Nuestra América.
