摘要：El filósofo boliviano H. C. F. Mansilla explora algunas posibilidades de mitigar los excesos del neoliberalismo en el Tercer Mundo a partir de la recuperación de las ideas del controvertido intelectual mexicano, Octavio Paz, un liberal apasionado que mantuvo hasta su muerte la convicción de que la democracia pluralista, la opción por el individualismo y el régimen de libertades públicas, representarían la herencia más noble y rescatable de la modernidad occidental. Pero, además, un hombre que reivindicó en su pensamiento y obra elementos fundamentales de la tradición romántica.

Mansilla explores some possibilities of mitigating the excesses of Neoliberalism in the Third World starting recovering the ideas of the controvertible Mexican intellectual Octavio Paz, a zealous liberal who maintained until his death the conviction that the pluralist democracy, the option for individualism and the public liberties regime would represent the most noble and redeemable heritage of modern times. Moroever, a man who claimed with his thought and work essential elements of the romantic tradition.
