摘要：La posmodernidad no niega la modernidad, sino más bien celebra sus conquistas, como el positivismo inherente a las ciencias, la razón tecnocientífica para pontificar sobre la intuición y la inteligencia, el triunfo del capitalismo en sus versiones neoliberal y neofascista, contraponiendo el fundamentalismo económico —el mercado como valor supremo— al fundamentalismo religioso. Con estas ideas inicia Frei Betto su reflexión sobre un tema tan debatido en las últimas décadas. "Las utopías cayeron con el muro de Berlín", nos dice el escritor brasileño con un dejo de nostalgia.
