摘要：The purpose of this article is to examine the narratives of fathers raising children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in order to better understand the generative work fathers accomplish in the context of shared leisure activities with their children. A secondary thematic analysis was conducted on data collected from 28 in-depth interviews with fathers of children with ASD. Findings show fathers as engaging in important generative fathering work through their use of leisure. Within leisure contexts, fathers teach and build their children’s capabilities, use fun and enjoyment to nurture the child-father relationship and grow in their fathering processes by demonstrating adaptation in their expectations for father-child leisure activities.
