摘要：The purpose of this article is to rebuild the history of Pilates Method in Brazil, focus on the relationship between the training of the pioneers instructors and the necessary investments for introduce this practice in the country. Therefore, the research is based on the cultural history and oral history with six interviews. By the analysis of the interviews and the dialogue with other sources, such as books and articles, we highlight that Pilates Method was introduce in Brazil by people that completed their training program in the United States in three different styles of intervention. The Pilates Method consolidates when Studios with specific equipments were opened and training program was offered in the country and when the Method was disclosed by local media and advertising.
