Based on critical reading of the researches that try to establish a relation between work and education, several studies take man as a main category of analysis, This fact brings Althusser to speak of theoretical humanism. In other words, a conception which refers itself to the anthropological phase of the first writings of Marx, when he was still influenced by ideological notions. The article questions whether, from a theoretical and methodological point of view, to proceed with certain analyses conceptually based on that developed by the "young" Marx would not compromise the comprehension of the very object of study. In this sense, the main argument is that the use of this notion can bring about problems of theoretical and methodological order for the analyses which deal with the relation between work and education.
