摘要:Proformação is one of the programs created by the Fernando Henrique Cardoso government (1995-2002). Its objective is the lay teacher's training in secondary schools for those who already work in the first four years of primary education and in the literacy classes and pre-school in the North, Northeast and Center-west areas of Brazil. It is financed by Fundescola and by the World Bank. With two years of duration, it combines distance education technology with conventional education, where the participants have classes in the training agencies — former normal schools — and they are accompanied by tutors of the program, study in special books and watch the TV Escola. The article articulates the political orie ntations from World Bank to Proformação, signaling some existent problems in that influence.
