摘要：The purpose of this study is to identify, from the workers' perspective, the fundamental elements for a professional education policy for Brazil at the end of this century, in the context of formal education, especially at the secondary school level. These elements constitute the consensual nucleus of the proposals of workers' entities and are here named work education. The workers are seen is this study from a double perspective: from the class and from the entities that represent them, and their leading role is defined in the process of construction and implementation of the educational policy, hereby inserted, professional education as a form of disputing ethically and politically its direction. The analyses undertaken in this study have as reference the actual changes in the workers's world and the educational demands resulting from this process.
