  • 摘要:In 1996 the first public institution directed towards de development of open distance education in Brazil was established: Universidade Aberta do Distrito Federal (UNAB-DF). Through an agreement with Capes/MEC, UNAB-DF developed the Pro-Ciencias program, a refresher course for Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics teachers over the two year period of 1997/1998. The methodology is original in that it is a distance and semi-taught course in the form of modules. Among these, there is a common module, Immersion in the Educational Process in Sciences, which aims at reflecting upon the role of Educational Psychology in Continued Education of teachers. The knowledge drawn from psychological theory aims at self-knowledge and skills development for everyday classroom activities, incorporating reflective attitudes toward classroom practice, problem identification and the devising of concrete and feasible solutions.
