He also explores the actuality of the Geneva thinker, with his ideas of sensibility, solidarity, liberty and equality as a counterpoint to the increasing dehumanization in present days, as processed by socio-economic inequality, globalization and mechanization of social relations. In the end, the paper tries to outline the role of education and particularly, that of schools and other public educational institutions in promoting human ideals, as those defended by Rousseau .
