The timeframe was the promulgation and implementation of law no. 10,639/03. The papers were accessed virtually. The new legislation amended Articles 26-A and 79-B of the National Education Bases and Guidelines Law (9394/96), by making the Teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian History and Culture compulsory in Basic Education and by establishing November 20th as the National Day of Black Consciousness. The research found that, despite a significant increase of studies both in the field of childhood as in the field of ethnic-racial relations in recent years, they are still rare. After the analysis, the texts found were grouped together into three classes, namely: papers relating the ethnic-racial issue to children's and young people’s literature, the ones that study the ethnic-racial relations in early childhood education, and the ones that address early childhood education in traditional communities, such as quilombolas. Key-words : Childhood and ethnic-racial relations, Research, ANPEd. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabela normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}
