In the absence of a reliable and accessible biomarker for Alzheimer's disease diagnosis, neuropsychological examination remains the main tool, in particular for the early stages of the disease. Sensitive memory tests allowing to make assumptions on the deficit and preserved memory processes are essential for neuropsychologists. The Encoding Storage Retrieval (ESR) paradigm (Eustache et al., 1998) is part of this approach. In this paper, we present the short ESR (s-ESR) test adapted from this paradigm and normative data collected in 197 French participants aged 20 to 79 years.
