摘要：Broadband wireless access is one of the segments in telecoms industry that is attracting growing interest, representing the technology of choice for an increasingly large number of operators in both new and developed markets. The broad-based acceptance of this technology is due to huge benefits it offers in terms of fast, easy and cost effective deployment, unsurpassed flexibility and reduced cost of ownership. This article presents the key characteristics of the new emerging broadband wireless technology - WiMax, its benefits and the possible future for the new technology.
