In Romania, under the impact of the financial crisis, the rate of NEET population, increased from 11.4% in 2008 to 16.8% in 2012, slightly down from 2011, when it was 17.4 percent. It analyzes the structure and education and gender composition of NEET groups in the pre-crisis period and under its impact. Some econometric methods are presented to estimate the structure and size of NEET rates and youth unemployment rate.
