摘要：The study empirically analyzed the impact of financial development, foreign direct investment and urban population on unemployment in Pakistan for the period of 1973-2010. The Johansen cointegration approach is applied for long run relationship. Empirical findings reveal that financial development does reduce unemployment. Foreign direct investment reduces unemployment in long run but, it increases unemployment in short run. Moreover, urbanization is increasing unemployment.This study opens up new insights for policy makers to reduce unemployment via using foreign direct investment as a tool.
